Hannaford Supermarket

The Hannaford Supermarket in Williston, VT installed a 24.85 kW solar electric system that will offset 1.2 million pounds of carbon dioxide over its expected lifetime. Hannaford’s decision to place a smaller, visible array near the front entrance helps ensure that their customers can see evidence of the store’s environmental commitment every time they shop.
In addition to standard flat roof mounting, the Williston store chose to mount some of its solar panels on a sloped awning visible from the parking lot. This proud display of renewable energy helps shoppers feel good about spending their money with Hannaford.
